Matt Ryan, DDS

FAQs

What is your general approach to dentistry?

Matthew Ryan, DDS, and Herb C. Jensen, Jr., DDS, believe in practicing dentistry with compassion, trust and clinical excellence. It is very important to everyone in our practice that you feel you are in a safe place to discuss your needs and concerns — and then to receive treatment. We look forward to demonstrating our interest in your oral health and overall well-being.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

You are welcome to bring a copy of your dental record, including X-rays. If you have had dental X-rays within the past 12 months, it may be helpful to bring them for review. You can contact your previous dentist to request all necessary materials. Also, please bring any prescription medications you are taking (or a list thereof).

Is there anything else I should do prior to my initial visit?

We encourage you to download and complete the following patient forms. We can also mail you a copy of these documents if you prefer. If you choose not to complete these forms in advance, please arrive a few minutes early to complete them at our office.

What should I expect at my initial appointment?

An initial visit typically lasts 90 minutes. It includes a review of your medical and dental history, a clinical and radiographic evaluation and establishment of a dental diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to you. If you present with any acute symptoms, our primary goal is to resolve them immediately. We allot time for a cleaning. However, if the cleaning must be postponed due to individual circumstances, we will schedule it at your earliest convenience.

What about dental insurance?

Dr. Ryan and Dr. Jensen participate in the Delta Dental network of dentists. Regardless of your insurance participation, we will file claims for services rendered on your behalf, as a convenience to you.

Should I be concerned about my insurance coverage?

Dr. Ryan and Dr. Jensen work for you, not your insurance company. Providing dental care based on your best interests guides our work; that is, we present treatment options that are appropriate for your individual needs. This approach occasionally conflicts with the arbitrary limitations of your dental benefits. We are sympathetic to this fact and strive to ensure you make the most of your coverage.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit and charge cards. We also accept personal checks and cash. If you have any questions regarding your account, please call 916-486-8255.
